New Markets Tax Credits Consulting
Connelly has extensive experience managing the entire life cycle of New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) allocations and transactions—from sourcing to successful financial close and post-close compliance. Our team has closed over $130MM in NMTC deals, primarily in Puerto Rico.
Our approach includes (i) matching the project sponsor with the appropriate Community Development Entities (CDE), leverage lenders, and NMTC investors based on their investment strategy and market opportunities; (ii) sourcing tax credits, deal structuring, and closing transactions featuring federal NMTCs; (iii) aligning NMTC financing with other economic incentives; (iv) assisting CDEs or QALICBs with any task related to the NMTC program—from preparing, writing, and submitting their NMTC application to NMTC asset management; (v) managing all aspects of deal underwriting for the project; (vi) advising CDEs on project pipeline development; and (vii) developing metrics to measure the community impact and benefit of an NMTC project.
